The CEA (Consumer Electronic Association) is responsible
for producing CES and is the preeminent trade association promoting growth in the consumer technology
industry. More than 2100 corporate members are represented by the CEA. These members are involved in
the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and integration of consumer electronics products.
The convention is held over a 3-day period, between 3 different hotels. The Sands Expo @ the Venetian, The Las Vegas Hilton and the Las Vegas Convention Center humbly hosts this grand event. Hundreds of exhibitors such as audio hardware and software, blank media and hand-held information devices attract verified registrants from all over the world including Brazil, Croatia and the Netherlands. The first CES Convention, was held in June of 1967 in NY City, hosted 200 exhibitors and 17,500 attendees. Now it holds 2,700 exhibitors and more than 140,000 attendees who see nightlife entertainment in Las Vegas during the week.
This year’s show is from January 7, 2008 thru January 10, 2008. All profits from CES are reinvested into industry promotion, engineering standards development, market research and legislative advocacy. Approximately 200 conferences and more than 300 expert speakers encompass CES conferences, industry insiders and super sessions to discuss hot industry trends and topics.
